Obama's Lowlights (9/3/10)

Muslim – Eighteen percent of Americans think Obama is a Muslim (Up from 11% when he was elected) and only 34% believe he is a Christian (Down from 50%). Why? First, Obama’s foreign policy in the Mideast favors the Muslim side of the argument and secondly, Obama does not go to Church publically. These are two reasons why Americans are beginning to question his religious ideology.

Popularity – Obama is polling at record lows with about a 44% approval rating and 50% disapproval when all major polls are averaged. What’s worse, Obama is now less popular than President Bush in key house districts. This does not bode well for the 2010 midterm election for Democrats.

California – How bad has it gotten in California? The state government may be forced to pay government workers using IOU’s.

Iran – They started their first nuclear reactor and intelligence agencies say they will have a nuclear bomb within the next year.

26 Billion Dollar Stimulus – The bill that was passed to bailout state Medicaid and Union benefit programs was not even named. Talk about rushing a bill through the legislative process.

Campaign Fundraising – Democrats doubled Republican campaign fundraising by a 2 to 1 margin in July (10.5 million to 5.3 million). But keep in the mind the Democrats campaign plan is to continue to blame Bush for all our economic woes.

Illegal Immigration – About 4 million children in the U.S. were born to illegal immigrants. Today, about 1 in 12 children born in our country is from illegal aliens.

Polls – About 70% of hurricane Katrina victims are happy with the recovery effort. On the other hand, 60% of Americans now feel they will never receive any Social Security benefits.

Prescription Drugs – In 2009, 1742 drugs were recalled compared to only 426 the prior year.

The Credit Card Act – Congress passed this Act last year to protect us from evil credit card companies that prey on ignorant soles. Well, get ready for higher rates in the long term. Any time the government meddles in the private sector, you can be certain that consumers will pay the price.

ObamaCare – Colleges and universities may be forced to stop offering low cost healthcare plans to students because of provisions in the bill.

The Census – 20 million illegal aliens were count as part of the census. Is this a sign that amnesty is just around the corner?

Iraq – The United States officially has withdrawn all but 50,000 troops. Hopefully the Iraq army is ready to keep the peace. Unfortunately, Obama’s speech on the matter was more political than a sole tribute to the troops.
