Obama's Lowlights (2/19/10)

The Census – Workers are going door to door in Michigan (highest unemployment rate in the country) trying to recruit people to join the Census Bureau. They are desperately trying to find temporary workers to fill jobs to conduct the census this year.

ObamaCare – Nearly a year into the liberal partisan effort on health care reform, Obama is now asking for Republican input. It is amazing what the election of Senator, Scott Brown, did to change the political landscape. Since Democrats no longer have a filibuster proof majority, they are now extending an olive branch. What’s worse is that Obama won’t kill the current bills and start over, which is what Republicans wanted. Does Obama truly believe he is being bipartisan?

Conservative vs. Liberal – A recent Pew Poll found that Republicans have a better knowledge of current events than Democrats by a 15% margin.

Governor Patterson – Patterson took over the Governorship of New York after Elliot Spitzer resigned. Spitzer admitted he paid for sex with prostitutes. Well, rumors are surfacing that Patterson is also involved in an ethics crisis of reported womanizing and drug use.

Congress Approval Rating – According to Gallup, the rating for Congress has dropped to its lowest level ever at 18%.

Michael Steele – The political landscape does not look good for Democrats in 2010, but all is not that bleak for them. As long as Michael Steele is the leader of the Republican National Committee, the Democrats have a chance. This past week Steele used the race card when discussing the criticism he is enduring in this role. This is not leadership.

Global Warming – Another cold winter with record snow falls across the country and around the globe should bring more scrutiny to the debate of man made climate change. Instead, global warming alarmists are saying that any extreme weather is a sign of climate change.

Corporation for National and Community Service – Obama has funded this organization with 1.4 billion to create an army of volunteers funded by the taxpayer. This is just another example of our growing and wasteful federal government at work.

Biden – He claims Iraq is Obama’s greatest achievement to date. How quickly Biden forgets that both he and Obama were against the war and the surge that brought us victory. It is amazing how they are willing to take credit for things that well under the Bush administration, but at the same time blame him for everything that went wrong. Joe, Barack, when are you clowns going to learn you cannot have it both ways.

Greece – The socialistic state is in deep trouble with massive debts. This should alarm all Americans because our debt situation is not much better.

Nuclear Power – The Obama administration has announced the building of the nation’s first nuclear power plant in nearly 40 years. The plant will be built in Burke, Georgia. This is the first thing this administration has done that makes sense for not only energy policy, but any policy. This is welcome news, especially after the latest shortcoming of wind power. Apparently wind turbines have been freezing and not turning when exposed to extreme cold temperatures.

The National Debt Commission – Obama set this up to give the impression he is serious about curtailing his massive deficit spending.
