Obama's Lowlights (8/6/10)

Elena Kagan – She was approved to be the next Supreme Court justice 63-37.

Alberto Gonzales – The one time Bush Attorney General has been found innocent by a Department of Justice investigation into his motives for firing 9 federal judges.

Going Green – Congress spent 604 thousand dollars last year on bottled water which is filling our environment with tons of plastic bottles in landfills.

Department of Defense – Many individuals have been found downloading child pornography on work computers and on work time.

Debt – The latest estimate for this year’s debt is 1.47 trillion, which is 41% higher than federal revenues for the year. This year’s debt alone is over 10% of GDP.

Healthcare – Britain is going to decentralize (move into the private sector) its social healthcare system because it is bleeding their country dry.

Unemployment Benefits – The Democrats continue to extend unemployment benefits at a cost to the country of 34 billion each time they extend the benefits. Republicans would vote for the extension if 34 billion in other government spending is cut, but this is not happening. Extended unemployment benefits are adding to our debt and the Democrats continue to violate their Pay-Go legislation. Interestingly, 1 of the 3 guests Obama invited to the Rose Garden for the announcement of passing the extended unemployment benefits lost her job because she was charged with a prescription felony. If the administration cannot find three people who truly qualify for unemployment extensions, then why should we trust them for handling our healthcare?

WikiLeaks – They have released over 90,000 classified documents covering how bad the Afghanistan war is going. This irresponsible behavior does not help the moral of our troops and puts them in danger.

Energy Bill – There are reports that Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, is introducing an energy bill that is scaled down from the earlier cap and tax version.

The View – President Obama made yet another appearance on a talk show when he visited The View. I wonder how the left would have treated Bush if he was going on all these talk shows. Obama chose attending The View over the Boy Scouts 100th year anniversary.

Paychecks – That great 6 dollar per week tax cut given to most workers by the Obama administration will expire this year.

Shahram Amiri – He was the Iranian nuclear scientist that the U.S. called a double agent before he went back to Iran. I doubt the U.S. claims are credible and Amiri was most likely working for Iran. If he was working for the U.S., he would not have gone back to Iran and his family would not have stayed in Iran.

Immigration Law – Even after an Arizona federal judge cut out the main portions of the immigration law, protestors were still unhappy that part of the bill went into law. Hence, they protested by blocking Interstate Route 19 with garbage. Endangering citizens is the wrong way to protest.

California – A federal court removed the ban on same sex marriage based on the equal protection clause. It will be appealed to 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
