Obama's Lowlights (12/16/10)

ObamaCare – A Virginia Federal Judge says the individual mandate in the legislation is unconstitutional.

Charlie Rangel – Congressional Democrats have given Rangel censure and then gave the tax cheat a standing ovation.

Taxes – The House voted to raise taxes on those earning more than 250,000 dollars next year – 233 to 187. House Democrats also blocked a compromise to keep tax rates at their current levels next year, but a compromise is imminent. The Senate passed a compromise bill 81-19.

Political Correctness – Banks that are instituting a minimum credit score of 580 to receive a mortgage loan are being called racist because this discriminates against the poor.

Pelosi – She reaffirmed her claim that unemployment checks creates jobs but tax cuts do not.

Drilling Moratorium – Obama has reinstated the Gulf oil drilling moratorium which will increase energy prices and kill jobs.

The Economy – The “Black” Friday shopping weekend was a success and the best year for consumer spending since 2004 with nearly 212 million Americans attending malls or shopping online. Forty-one states saw improvements to their unemployment numbers in October, which is the best result in nearly 2 years.

ICE – A Washington Post investigative article has revealed that Immigration authorities (ICE) have been manipulating data on the deportation of illegal immigrants. They have been fraudulently trying to make it look as if Obama is tough on illegal immigrants.

2012 Elections – Republicans are lining up around the country to take on established Senate Democrats.

Technology – There is new technology being developed that would deactivate peoples’ phones while they are driving. Is this a massive government intrusion? I am mixed on this one because phone users kill innocent people.

Treasury – They made an error printing 110 billion dollars and the money will have to be incinerated – a waste of about 120 million dollars in taxpayer funding to print the money.

Terrorism – Another month and another terrorist attack was thwarted, this time in Maryland.

Guantanamo Detainees – Over one in 4 detainees released from Guantanamo go back to being terrorists.

Don’t Ask Don’t Tell – The repeal of the military policy’s on to how to handle gay soldiers has been blocked since the Democrats do not have 60 votes.
