Obama's Lowlights (7/23/10)

Supreme Court – Elena Kagan’s confirmation is almost certain. The Senate Judiciary Committee confirmed her 13-6. However, it is important to keep in mind the Robert’s court has been fairly unified. Over their past 100 cases, 46 were decided unanimously and only 18 were 5-4.

New Jersey – Governor Chris Christie’s latest attempt to cut the New Jersey budget is to privatize state parks and other previously government run entities saving the state nearly a quarter of a billion dollars. Of course, the word “privatize” is as bad as any curse word to liberals so there is resistance.

Lame Duck Congress – The liberals are plotting their strategy to pass their progressive agenda after the midterm elections in November. Expect carbon taxes, immigration amnesty, and card check to be the priority of the outgoing Democratic Party.

Oil Spill – After losing twice in court to enact a moratorium on deep water oil drilling, Obama is going to try a third time. This only illustrates the arrogance of this administration and their callous disrespect for the law. After all, nearly 75% of Americans oppose this moratorium, especially those in the Gulf states. In other news, the cap is holding, but there are a few leaks around the well that are being watched closely.

ObamaCare – Another important aspect of this legislation is that it literally passes the buck onto the states. States will be forced to pay for the increased number of people qualifying for Medicaid under the ObamaCare legislation.

Labor Department – They made 7.1 billion in overpayments in unemployment benefits to thousands of Americans. No wonder so many unemployed Americans refuse to look for a job and unemployment figures are lower than true values.

Right Wing Extremist – We hear all this talk about violence coming from right wing extremist groups, but this week a pipe bomb exploded at the residence of a Houston oil company executive. Will the left try to pin this on right wing extremism?

GM – Government owned GM, for the first time, reported higher sales in China than in the U.S.

Habitat for Humanity – The charity that builds low income housing for the poor is now the 8th largest builder in America. So why exactly do we need government run low income housing programs? It can be done successfully in the private sector.

NAACP – The African-American organization voted that the Tea Party movement is racist. These types of generalizations are very detrimental to society as a whole because it further polarizes and divides Americans not just on ideology, but race too. The NAACP is also working to turn California’s Neverland (Michael Jackson’s home) into a State Park. Doesn’t California have enough economic woes to worry about?

Cedra Crenshaw – She is a candidate for the Illinois senate, but Democrats are trying to keep her off the ballot and are taking the case to court. Since when is anyone who gets the required signatures not allowed to run for office? The answer: When the candidate is a black female Tea Party member!

The Economy – The administration is now claiming the stimulus created or saved over 3 million jobs. How stupid do they think we are?

Campaigning – Democrats have been going to campaign fundraisers in Canada to rake in big bucks. I guess they cannot get any money in the United States.

War on Terror – Following an al-Qaida attack in Uganda, Obama used the words “War on Terror”. This is the first time he used these words to describe radical Islam. It is weird that it takes an attack on Africans to speak these words, but he refused to use these words when Americans were attacked.
