Obama's Lowlights (12/3/10)

Consumer Debt – Consumer debt continues to fall. After the third quarter debt levels were at 11.6 trillion dollars down 110 billion from the prior quarter and 1 trillion since the recession hit in 2008.

Earmarks – The Democrat controlled lame duck Senate rejected a Republican call for a ban on earmarks.

Banks – The number of bank failures in 2010 is approaching 150, already more than the 140 failures in 2009.

Utah – Utah will be the latest state to pass an immigration enforcement law similar to the one being debated in Arizona.

NPR – The Republicans tried to defund National Public Radio from using taxpayer dollars, but the effort was blocked by Democrats.

Ireland – They are the latest socialized European country to receive a bailout worth about 113 billion Euros. Many predict that other Euro Zone countries will need a bailout in the near future – Spain and Portugal head that list.

Ground Zero Mosque – Apparently the developers of the Ground Zero Mosque have asked for up to 5 million dollars in federal funding to build the mosque.

North Korea – The country continues to antagonize its enemies by firing mortar shells into South Korea and it was recently discovered they have been enriching uranium. It was previous believed that North Korea was solely using plutonium for nuclear power.

Only in America – A man convicted of killing a 14 year old on a bike while he was driving 80 MPH, is suing the family of the boy for negligence because the boy was not wearing a helmet. These are the types of frivolous lawsuits that need to be discarded immediately.

Amazon.com – They finally pulled an e-book called “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure”. It ranked as the 65th best selling book on the site!

Colleges – Over 30 college presidents made a salary of over 1 million dollars in 2008.

School Work – Students can buy papers and homework online for as little as 2 dollars. The work is done in India, Pakistan, and Egypt.

Arizona – Over 100,000 Hispanics have moved from the state since the new immigration law went into effect.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed – The 9-11 mastermind will not go on trial anytime soon. He will be held indefinitely at Guantanamo. This breaks two Obama promises, first Gitmo he would close Guantanamo and secondly, he continues to hold detainees indefinitely without a trial.

Air Force 1 – It costs the taxpayers 180,000 dollars for every hour the plane is in operation.
