Obama's Lowlights (6/18/10)

Rand Paul – He and other Republicans such as Michael Steele may make this upcoming November midterms a disappointment for the GOP. When will these guys learn to shut their mouths? Paul’s latest slip is to deny citizenship to children born to illegal aliens in the U.S. Yes, the 14th amendment should be changed, but what are the chances of getting 38 states and a two-thirds majority in Congress to change it? None, so let it go!

Land Trusts – The government contributes billions to land trust companies to gobble up acres of land that can be protected. The problem with this is it benefits the wealthy land owners who look to get a tax break. The end result is lower tax revenues for state governments.

Census Jobs – The NY Post reported that the government is hiring census workers, but then is dismissing these workers before hiring them back again. It is a con job to inflate job creation numbers. Maybe this explains why the government hired over 400,000 census workers in May.

The Media – White House correspondent, Helen Thomas, was caught on YouTube ranting about how Jews should leave Palestine and go home to Poland and Germany. I am sure Thomas is one of many reporters with Anti-Semitism ideologies based on the biased coverage against Israel. Not sure if Thomas realizes that many Palestinians live in Israel. The good news is Thomas is finally retiring, at age 89.

Guantanamo Bay – The horrific prison that Obama and liberals want to close, features new volleyball courts and go-kart tracks.

Elections – A lot of Tea Party endorsed candidates are winning the GOP primaries. Time will tell if this is going to be a good or bad thing for Democrat incumbents who have to face off with these candidates. Personally, I do not think this will bode well for the GOP because it may not attract independents and moderates to their side. Time will tell.

The Oil Spill – Obama has comically stated that he is going “Kick !@#. The man does not have a clue about how to be leader or to manage a crisis. Obama’s moratorium on offshore drilling is also against the advice of oil advisors and southern politicians. We learned one thing from the Obama address on this subject; he plans to use this disaster as a means for another government power grab into the energy sector and cap and trade policy. Expect congress to push this legislation after the midterm elections, which will be the last act of lame duck congressional members who have been voted out of office.

ObamaCare – In the latest attempt by Democrats and the White House to sell its healthcare reform legislation they are sending out 250 dollars to Medicare beneficiaries. I doubt this bribe will change the minds of seniors that 500 billion in cuts to Medicare are in their best interest. Also, the Health Human Services chief, Kathleen Sibelius is trying to strong arm insurance companies to lower rates next year after it was learned they planned to increase premiums, which of course, is contrary to the promise made by Obama.

The Constitution – A publisher (A & D Publishing) of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence put a disclaimer on the book saying these documents are outdated and do not voice the opinion of their company.

Afghanistan – General McCrystal says it will take longer to secure Kandahar and Afghanistan. Hopefully the public and Obama will have the nerve to be persistent to win this fight.
