Obama's Lowlights (4/9/10)

ObamaCare – As more people learn about the newly passed legislation, the more they do not like it. Corporations say it will cost them millions more in healthcare expenditures. People are now learning about all the sweetheart deals to special interest groups such as unions and to the pharmaceutical industry.

Personal Income – It has dropped 1.7% under Obama, which is another metric indicating that the massive 800 billion dollar stimulus is not getting to American families.

Social Security – It appears that this social program is in trouble of bankruptcy since the government will pay out more than it receives this year.

Israel – While the White House has railed Israel for expanding settlements in Jerusalem, they have nothing to say about a proposed statue in Palestine to honor a terrorist (Dalal Mughrabi), who killed 38 Israelis, including 13 children in 1978. How is this going to help the peace process?

National Labor Relations Board – Obama has assigned Craig Becker, who has ties to unions, to sit on the board. Becker will be a recess appointee meaning he will not go through Senate approval. Republicans obviously object to anyone sitting on the NLRB who will not be objective and will be influenced by special interest groups they have represented in the past.

Afghanistan – Obama finally made his first visit to our troops in Afghanistan. Maybe Obama is going to act like a Commander-in-Chief after all. Considering Obama has traveled overseas more than any president and goes on more talk TV shows than any President in history, it is great he finally made good use of his time.

Climate Change – Apparently NASA’s climate data was inferior to the fudged data accumulated by the Climate Research Unit in England. This is further proof that the issue of climate change is far from being settled.

Iran and North Korea – The CIA issued its annual report to Congress and it claims that both Iran and North Korea already have the capability to build and transport nuclear weaponry.

Energy Production – Obama has surprised many by opening the entire Southeastern seaboard and made a portion of Alaska available for oil drilling. This along with his approval to build a nuclear power plant in Georgia may be two of his best decisions while in office. Time will tell if Obama is sincere or is just doing some political posturing.

The Economy – Great news for Obama and Democrats since the economy added 162,000 jobs this past month. This is the highest number in 3 years! Without the inclusion of Census jobs, the number of new jobs created is only 114,000. The bad news is that the unemployment rate will still remain at 9.7%.

The Stimulus – More disturbing news about why the Recovery Act has been an utter failure to create jobs – Money was handed out to jurisdiction based more on political affiliation than considering unemployment statistics.

Hank Johnson – The Democratic representative from Georgia is afraid that adding more troops to Guam will cause the overpopulated country to capsize. No, this is not a joke! This is one of our national leaders displaying his ignorance.
