Obama's Lowlights (9/24/10)

Obamacare – The latest reports on the legislation is that it will not only force insurance premiums higher, but the legislation will do nothing to curb the rising cost of healthcare. It has gotten so bad, Kathleen Sebelius (Head of the Health and Human Services Department) is threatening insurance companies for blaming Obamacare as the reason they are increasing premiums.

Carp Czar – Yes, I kid you not, Obama has appointed a czar to control the Asian Carp in the Great Lakes.

Israel – Time magazine was at it again doing a piece entitled “Why Israel Doesn’t Care About Peace”. Reading the article, it is apparent that Israelis want peace, but after decades of trying they are not optimistic. Besides, they realize that Iran is a bigger threat. The article makes Israeli’s sound selfish for wanting to better their personal lives while ignoring peace. People have to live their lives and no one should question that.

Taxes – 41 White House employees own nearly 1 million dollars in back taxes. This number is not much different than when Bush was in the White House.

Child Pornography – Over 50 workers from the Department of Defense have been caught downloading child pornography. What’s worse, many of these perpetrators have not been indicted. Reports indicate that at least 9 of the offenders have the highest security clearance.

Healthcare – The average worker is paying 4,000 dollars annually for healthcare coverage. This is an increase of 158% over the past decade.

Illegal Immigration – Illegal immigration has declined from nearly 800,000 annually to 300,000 annually due to the recession.

The Economy – Only 47% of people between the ages of 16 and 24 are currently employed. Of the 139 million workers in our economy, it is estimated that 25% spent some time unemployed over the course of this recession.

Obama – Not only are his poll numbers sagging, so is the sale for Obama merchandise. People may finally be seeing that Obama is nothing more than a polarizing figure.

Food and Drug Administration – The FDA is seriously looking into regulating over the counter cough medicine.

Tea Party – They may bailout Obama during this midterm election. Although I like the candidates they support, Angle and O’Donnell have a much smaller chance of winning their Senate races than their moderate counter parts. I would rather have someone in Congress vote for my beliefs 50% of the time than 0% of the time. We’ll see, but I think regaining the Senate is out of reach.

Small Business Bill – Congress has passed a small business bill, but it places a huge onus on taxpayers to bailout any small banks and their lenders up to 30 billion dollars.
