Obama's Lowlights (4/16/10)

Partisan Politics – Obama asked for Limbaugh and Beck to tone down their partisan rhetoric by chastising them in a partisan way. Needless to say, this hypocrisy will not work. I wonder if Obama realizes he is only throwing more gas on an already out of control fire.

No Congress – The past few weeks have been slow since Congress is on break. This is great news because it will temporarily slow the socialistic Obama agenda. Next up for the progressives as they return from break this week is to reform the financial industry with new regulations and mandates.

Consumer spending rose 0.3% in February, but there was no gain in family incomes.

Congressional Staffers – Nearly four staffers per Congressman makes better than 100,000 dollars annually.

Narcissism – A San Diego State psychologist, Jean Twenge, has found that over one third of college students display narcissistic personalities, which is up 100% from just 15 years earlier. She calls the current generation of college graduates, the generation of me, myself, and I.

Citigroup – The U.S. government is going to sell its stake in Citigroup and net an 8 billion dollar profit. Citigroup received government bailouts amounting to 25 billion during the financial collapse.

Afghanistan – Obama has publically chastised Afghan President Hamid Karzai, now Karzai is going rogue. Sure Karzai is corrupt, but making enemies with him is not going to help our troops fight for their freedom. Does anyone see a disturbing trend with Obama? He is nice to our enemies, but publically turns against our allies. Remember, he has done the same thing to Israel just a few weeks earlier.

Nuclear Weapons – Obama has a made a number of rookie mistakes. The whole purpose of nuclear weapons is that they are there for show, to be a deterrent. Obviously, no one wants to use them. However, they are no longer a deterrent if Obama publicly states he intends to not only reduce the U.S. stockpile, but also the U.S. will not use them against countries that do not have nuclear weapons. So a country can attack the U.S. with biological weapons knowing the U.S. will not retaliate with nuclear weaponry.

Space Program – The U.S. will pay Russia 330 million dollars to shuttle 6 astronauts into space.

SCOTUS – It is no surprise that 90 year old Justice Stevens is planning on retiring. This will give Obama a second appointment, which will probably be another progressive activist.

Airline – A fake shoe bomber aboard a United Airlines flight walked away without any charges. Even though he did not have bomb, he violated federal laws by lighting cigarettes in the bathroom and joked about having a bomb. We need to deter this activity and come down on offenders hard. Imagine how the innocent people aboard the flight must have felt.

Bart Stupak – The prolife Michigan Congressman who switched his vote in favor of ObamaCare will not seek reelection. This maneuver essentially cost him his 18 year career in Congress. So was it worth it for Stupak to cave to liberal pressures and support the president? No.

Tax Day – There were high turnouts for Tea Party demonstrations at hundreds of sites around the nation.
