Obama's Lowlights (2/5/10)

9/11 Trials – Obama and the Justice Department got the message loud and clear, they are officially looking for a new venue for the trial of KSM and 4 other conspirators. Even if the trial is not in New York City, there will continue to be a push back regardless as to what city is chosen for the trial.

Bin Laden – Obama administration would read him his Miranda Rights if they were to catch him. Please explain how this would make us safer?

ObamaCare – It is likely that the Democrats will use the nuclear option (reconciliation) to pass their horrendous health care reform bill. The nuclear option means they will pass a bill that is only required to get 51 votes in the Senate to pass instead of 60. This is political suicide since much of America is against the bill.

The Budget – Obama has proposed a 3.83 trillion dollar budget that generate anther 1.56 trillion in debt. Amazingly, this surpasses last year’s 1.41 trillion dollar debt. Next year’s debt is still projected to be over a trillion dollars, even if Obama implements the spending freeze he proposes. As part of this year’s budget proposal is another 100 billion for a jobs bill on top of last year’s 862 billion dollar stimulus. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that the deficit will soar by over 5 trillion dollars over the next five years. It is not until 2015 that spending is projected to be back to normal or at a reasonable level.

Craig Becker – He is Obama’s choice for the Labor Board. And what a surprise he believes workers should not have the option to pick against forming a labor union. Now, that is a democracy.

Polls – Early polls for the 2010 mid term Senate races show that the Republicans are currently gaining 9 additional seats. Many of the races are still too close and within the margin of error, but the trend is towards the GOP. To regain control of the Senate, the GOP needs to gain 10 seats. As it stands today, the Republicans would hold a 50 to 48 majority, but both independents caucus with the Democrats, essentially making it 50 to 50. Remember, in the event of a tie vote, vice president Joe Biden, would cast the deciding vote for the liberals. Even New York Senator Charles

Schumer’s job approval numbers are less than 50%.

ACLU – They lost a case in which they were trying to free a Yemeni Guantanamo prisoner so he could go back home. But a D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled by a 2 to 1 margin that the United States had the authority to hold this man at Guantanamo indefinitely.

Obama – Made the claim this past week he has “the most transparent government in the modern era”. If this is true, then why doesn’t anyone know what is in the latest revision of ObamaCare? After all, this is the biggest piece of legislation in the modern era.

Virginia – Its Democratic controlled legislature voted to make it ILLEGAL to place mandates on individuals to purchase health care insurance. This goes against the entire premise of the ObamaCare legislation.

Government – The number of federal government employees has topped 2 million for the first time since Clinton scaled back “big government” in the early 90s.
