Obama's Lowlights (7/2/10)

Illegal Immigration – All signs point in the direction that the Department of Justice will file a suit against Arizona and their new immigration law. In other news, Hilda Solis, the head of the Labor Department says illegal aliens deserve fair pay for their hard work. It sounds like the Obama administration wants to encourage more illegal aliens to enter our nation. In fact, it is being rumored that Obama may produce an executive order to give amnesty to all illegal aliens.

Gas Prices – Americans should be bracing for higher gas prices. The Gulf oil spill and Obama’s moratorium on deep water drilling should escalate prices. If the lame duck session of congress passes an energy bill with caps on carbon emissions expect prices to soar higher. Experts predict anywhere from 1 to 2 dollars more for a gallon of gas in 2011 if Obama is allowed to enact the moratorium.

Afghanistan – Over the past two years 17 Afghan pilots training at a Texas Military base have gone AWOL and over half still remain at large. In other news, General Pretreaus is trying to change the ridiculous engagement policies set forth by the Obama administration that is needlessly costing lives.

ObamaCare – The legislation did not include the doctor fix (payment to doctors who accept Medicare patients), but Harry Reid recently decided to cut this payment to doctors. In other news, it is reported that over 40% of all doctors are older than 55 years old. This coupled with ObamaCare legislation will really place a shortage on doctors. This is something that Obama and the Democrats obviously failed to consider when writing this horrible legislation.

Elena Kagan – Reports have surfaced where, The Supreme Court nominee, compared the NRA to the KKK. She will have some explaining to do on this because the NRA only supports the practice of our second amendment rights. Kagan’s confirmation hearings started this week.

Fannie and Freddie – The Senate voted down a proposal for Fannie and Freddie to obtain 5% down on all loans. Chris Dodd proclaimed this would be bad for the poor, who cannot afford homes. In case Dodd already forgot, it is this type of thinking that got us into the financial crisis. And what’s worse is that the financial giants will require an infusion of 400 billion dollars over this decade to remain solvent.

The Economy – In his latest weekly address Obama was once again playing the blame game. This time he was blaming the GOP for blocking progress on the economy. It is not like the GOP was successful in blocking the trillions Obama and the Democrats have spent on the economy and entitlements. The Democrats passed financial reform that will favor big banks who are excited about the reform because it claims they are too big to fail. Senator Dodd is excited about the reform because he “does not know how the reform will work but it will effect every aspect of our lives”. China will supplant the United States as the global leader in manufacturing. And finally, new home sales plunged to record low levels meaning the housing crisis is still unfolding.

Terror Trials – It is not surprising that the Obama administration will delay naming the place of the trials for Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and his 9/11 coconspirators until after the 2010 mid term elections.

Rahm Emanual – More rumors are surfacing that Obama’s chief of staff may step aside at the year’s end.

Generation Dead Beat – Over 80% of all college graduates move back in with mom and dad. And why not since ObamaCare extends healthcare benefits for “children” up to age 26. This is America’s next group of leaders and innovators. Worried? We should be!

Blagojevich Trial – It is starting to become apparent that the Obama White House knew of Blagojevich’s attempt to sell Obama’s old Senate seat. Blagojevich was to appoint Valerie Jarrett to the seat in return for a top spot in the Obama cabinet.

Robert Byrd – The West Virginia Senator passed away after nearly 50 years of service in congress. The former KKK member is best known for his filibuster attempt on the 1964 Civil Rights Act and was routinely referred to as the “Prince of Pork”.
