Obama's Lowlights (6/25/10)

Gaza – The United States is sending over 400 million dollars in aid to Gaza, a region that is under the control of the terrorist group Hamas. This is another very questionable move by the White House and the Democrats.

The Economy – Obama is claiming that small businesses around the country are hiring people even though the private sector only added 40,000 jobs last month. Obama still has not realized that his policies have created a large degree of uncertainty and businesses are not hiring. In other news, for the first time, individuals on food stamps leaped over 40 million. And finally, the White House budget chief resigned, not a surprise since the administration seems to have no need for budget.

ObamaCare – An 83 page report by the Health and Human Services, Labor, and IRS government agencies reports that over half of all employer health plans would be cut by 2013 because of ObamaCare. Thus, if you like your doctor, you may not be able to keep him or her. Another promise broken! Interesting, under ObamaCare people with low income, but a lot of wealth could qualify for the program.

Oil Spill – Obama and BP has turned down help from dozens of independent companies. The spill size has been underestimated and is now considered to be about 75 million barrels of oil. Remember, Obama choose to go to a Barbara Boxer fundraiser than to go to a memorial in honor of the 11 people that lost their lives in the Deep Horizon explosion. Obama also compared this disaster to 9/11. Oh brother, the man is misguided. In other news, the Wall Street Journal reports that Obama may be getting his cue from the liberal organization the Center for American Progress on how to handle this crisis. A Louisiana Judge also blocked Obama’s effort to place a 6 month moratorium on deep water drilling.

Afghanistan – Obama fired McChrystal. Time will tell if this was a good idea, but in the short term it is devastating to the U.S. effort. His replacement, Petraeus has certainly proved his worth in Iraq. Remember, Obama still has yet to give Petraeus or Bush credit for the surge strategy. In other news, U.S. geological researchers found a trillion dollars worth of mineral deposits. This would certainly help turn around one of the poorest nations in the world.

Iraq – Thirty-Four of the top 42 al-Qaida targets in Iraq have been killed or captured disabling their communication with Pakistan.

The Stimulus – There are rumblings that Obama and the Democrats want to pass a second stimulus to try to turn around the dismal jobs market. Remember, the last stimulus package funded projects like the 1.25 million dollar squirrel bridge in Arizona to save an estimated 5 squirrels per year.

The Debt – In 2010 the United States will borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends. This is leading us down the same path that has rocked the Greece economy.

Myanmar – Reports have surfaced that they may be the next rogue nation to push for nuclear weaponry.

Newspapers – This may be the left’s next big bailout. It makes sense; after all, they are predominately progressive with their views.

Virginia – New governor, Bob McDonnell, will have balanced the state’s budget in his first year of service.

Entitlements – Republican Senator Orin Hatch introduced legislation that would require welfare recipients to pass a drug test. There is no chance this will pass the Democrat controlled houses.

Armed Forces – Seventy-Five percent of young Americans are ineligible for military service because of criminal records, obesity, and a lack of education requirements.
