Elizabeth Warren – New reports surfaced that Warren defended big steel and coal industries as a practicing lawyer. She is also accused of practicing law in Massachusetts without a license.
Obama – He addressed the UN last week saying the same things he said the year before, we must stop Iran from getting nuclear technology. Obama also continues to stand by his story that an anti-Muslim film caused the Middle East uprisings.
Wikileaks – Julian Assange addressed the UN about asylum – he does not want to be extradited back to Sweden.
Economy – Head of the Philadelphia branch of the Fed admits that the recent quantitative easing initiative will not help the economy.
Women – This is what Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter had to say about women “That’s the other thing that you find most often with women. They’re not really concerned about what’s happened over the last four years, they really want to know what’s going to happen in the next four years.”
Libya – According to Newsweek Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack.
Greece – Austerity protests have sparked up again in Greece.
Spain - Facing an economic crisis, Spain is expected to announce a new budget which will raise taxes and implement structural reforms. .These austerity measures have provoked violent protests.
France – A 75% tax on the wealthy passed.
UN – Susan Rice, US ambassador to the UN skipped the speech of Israeli President Netanyahu at the UN.
Post Office - For the second time in two months, the U.S. Postal Service will default on a congressionally mandated payment to pre-fund retiree health benefits
Egypt – President Mosi says any insults about Mohammed are “unacceptable”. I agree, but he has to realistic, not everyone is going to show tolerance, especially if they protest by killing others – this is not the way to earn respect.
Voter Fraud - Preliminary audits indicated more than one million Florida voters claimed New York mailing addresses. Over 1,700 people were found with voter registrations in both states.
Economy - New orders for manufactured durable goods in August decreased $30.1 billion or 13.2 percent to $198.5 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today. This decrease, down following three consecutive monthly increases, was the largest decrease since January 2009. The GDP was downgraded from an abysmal 1.7% in the second quarter to 1.3%.
Poll Analysis – I have done some poll analysis in Florida and Ohio and by my calculations Obama’s lead is exaggerated by about 1.8 points in Florida and 2.1 points in Ohio.
Obama phones – At a rally in Cleveland, one supporter was hailing Obama for her free phone, called an “Obamaphone” paid for by taxpayers.
