Obama's Lowlights (9/3/12)

Campaign - The NRCC raised $11.7 million and ended the month of July with $48.9 million in cash on hand, while the DCCC raised $8.2 million and closed the month of July with $36.2 million in cash on hand. Thru July, Obama had outspent Romney 325 million to 165 million, but Romney has more cash on hand. In other news, presidential candidates have traditionally kept a low profile during their opponent's nominating celebration, but Democrats are throwing those rules out the window in an attempt to spoil Mitt Romney’s coronation as the GOP nominee. Expect Republicans to return the favor the following week at the DNC in Charlotte.

EPA - A federal court has overturned new EPA rules that would have curtailed coal power plants.

MSNBC - The Labor Department paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus funds to a public relations firm to run more than 100 commercials touting the Obama administration’s “green training” job efforts on two MSNBC cable shows, records show. The commercials ran on MSNBC on shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in 2009, but the contract didn’t report any jobs created, according to records reviewed recently by The Washington Times.

Planned Parenthood – A federal court ruled Texas can cut off funding for Planned Parenthood within its women’s health services program because Planned Parenthood is an abortion business.

Federal Deficit – The U.S. federal debt officially passed 16 trillion dollars on August 23rd.

Afghanistan – The U.S. military death toll has passed 2000, but no one is paying any attention to this war because the media refuses to cover it as they covered the 4,000 military personal that lost their lives fighting the Iraq War under Bush’s watch.

Democratic Budget - The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office this past week warned the economy will enter a recession next year if the country goes over the so-called fiscal cliff.

Abortion – The Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin needs to drop out of his race for his dumb comments on abortion. However, it is important to note that fewer than 3% of all abortions are due to rape and incest. That means over 97% of abortions are performed on women where a crime was not committed.

Debate Moderator - Josh Peterson at the Daily Caller notes that Martha Raddatz, the moderator of this year's vice-presidential debate, was married to Obama friend and FCC chairman Julius Genachowski.

Fast and Furious – An ATF official in charge of the Fast and Furious program has been accused of perjury after receiving a taxpayer salary, a pension fund, and bank salary.

War on Women – The major networks are pushing this war on women, but at the same time they have refused to air Ann Romney’s speech as the RNC.

Immigration - Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach's latest immigration fight pits his clients, ten Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, up against President Barack Obama's latest directive to stop the deportation of immigrants who came to the country as children.

Twitter - President Obama's Twitter account has 18.8 million followers -- but more than half of them really don't exist, according to reports. A new Web tool has determined that 70% of Obama's crowd includes "fake followers," the New York Times reports in a story about how Twitter followers can be purchased.
